Most people take into consideration the culture shock they may experience on arrival to a foreign country, but few expect to experience reverse culture shock coming back to their home country.
In my opinion, if I were to visit New Zealand I would experience reverse culture shock coming back due to a number of reasons:
-The nature. New Zealand is a land of stunning scenery and one is always surrounded by it. Compared to LA with its location in a desert and its comparatively nonexistent amount of wildlife and nature I might come to think of it as strange or foreign.
-Lax work culture. The country is known for its easy going work culture and it might be hard to adjust if I was returning to a job with more strict codes
-Recreation. New Zealanders mainly entertain themselves with the outdoors and sports with friends. This is opposed to the going out to a restaurant nearby or downtown that I would do for fun.
